Jesús Perez Cortes was born in Sevilla (Spain).
At six years of age he was already dancing 'sevillanas', a typical regional
dance.
A year later he began classes with the famed teacher Rosalía Moreno in classical Spanish, regional and flamenco dance, as well as music, jazz and 'caque'.
In 1983 he studied Spanish guitar with Luis de Abajo.
In 1985 he furthered his studies in dance with the teachers José de la Ega,
Isabel Porcar, E. M., Ros Mur and juan Mur (who teaches at the Conservatorio de Música).
In 1988 Jesús Cortés and his 'ballet' (dance) group made an artistic tour
of France, organised by the Spanish Consulate.
In 1989 he carried out his own presentation in collaboration with Teresa
Guerra's group.
In 1990 he began performing at the dance hall Gran Palace de Lloret de Mar
(Barcelona) as 'primer bailarín' (first dancer) in the show Fuerza del Ballet
Imperial, with 35 other artists.
In 1991 he founded his own dance academy where he imparted classes in
regional as well as Spanish dance.
From 1996 until now he has been performing with his 'Ballet' at the El
Relicario, which is internationally renown for the quality of its hired
arists and presented shows.
Jesus Cortes is considered as one of the best and most recognised dancers at
the moment in the field of flamenco. Furthermore, he comes from a family
deeply rooted in the art, whose most outstanding representative is Jesus.

In addition, Jesús Cortes has shared the stage with several major figures of
song and performance such as Placido domingo, sara Montiel, Regina de Santos,Los Morancos, La Trinca, Ma del Monte, etc.
At 30 years of age he has entertained personalities of the political and
business world like the chairman of Land Rover America, minister Loyola de
Palacios, the king of United Arab Emirates (in Albajarin city), and many
others.
